Quin is a recognized survey researcher and a partner at Y2. He has particular expertise with sampling, weighting, and online modes, including pioneering the probability online panel, which is being increasingly utilized by market researchers.
He has fielded numerous political, academic, and professional surveys via traditional telephone interviews, novel internet modes, and even increasingly rare in-person interviews. His publications appear in a variety of academic outlets including Political Analysis, Public Opinion Quarterly, the American Journal of Political Science, and Cambridge University Press.
Quin received his Ph.D. from the Ohio State University where he focused on elections, public opinion, and survey research methods. In addition to his work at Y2, he is the former Director of the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy and an Associate Professor of Political Science at Brigham Young University.
Kelly is a partner at Y2 , a survey specialist and a political scientist. He has directed the Utah Colleges Exit Poll, a poll that has surveyed voters in the state of Utah for over 30 years. Kelly’s expertise in questionnaire development includes experience with numerous randomized survey experiments and A/B testing.
His publications appear in a variety of academic journals including Public Opinion Quarterly, Political Behavior, the Journal of Politics, and the Journal of Political Marketing.
Kelly received his Ph.D. from Columbia University where he researched political parties, public opinion and voting behavior. He is also the former Director of the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy at BYU and is currently a senior research fellow.
Scott is the Managing Partner at Y2 and has led the execution of polling, microtargeting, focus groups, and custom analytics for over a hundred national and state campaigns, parties, and outside groups – ranging from bids for city hall to bids for the White House. Additionally, he served as a data advisor and analyst for a presidential campaign in the Dominican Republic. From 2010 to 2013, he worked as the Director of Data Strategy for TargetPoint Consulting, a national political strategy and microtargeting firm. He served as the Deputy Analytics Officer at Jeb 2016, Inc. in Miami, FL and has been a primary strategist for Mia Love since 2014.
He is a researcher and a campaign politics practitioner, specialized in making research findings actionable.

Partner, Vice President of Operations
As Vice President of Operations, Nick is involved in managing – at both a strategic and operational level – the company’s key functions.
Nick has spent the last decade in business operations, successfully helping organizations innovate, grow, and succeed. Prior to his work at Y2 Analytics, he spent seven years as Director of Operations at TargetPoint Consulting, one of the nation’s leading public opinion and microtargeting research firms. Nick also worked on Mitt Romney’s 2008 presidential campaign, serving as the Headquarters Operations Manager and Human Resources Director. Before joining the campaign, Nick served in the Bush Administration at the White House, and during college he worked as an Intern for the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC.
An Ohio native, Nick has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Brigham Young University and a Communications/Business Management degree from Brigham Young University- Idaho.
Nick lives in Syracuse, Utah with his wife and kids, all of whom are outdoor-loving baseball fans.
Partner, Vice President of Research
Kyrene serves as the Director of Research at Y2 Analytics. She is a skilled researcher with a background in both qualitative and quantitative methods. She specializes in questionnaire design, survey management, data analysis, and focus group administration for various clients in diverse arenas, including corporate branding, municipal policy, and political campaigns. Prior to joining Y2, Kyrene worked with GS Strategy Group, a national polling and strategic consulting firm where she collaborated on dozens of projects for candidates, interest groups, trade associations, and major corporations. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University.
Partner, Vice President of Data Science
Luke is the Director of Data Science at Y2. He has extensive experience in political data analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization, and he utilizes these skills to help generate deep strategic insights for his clients. Before joining Y2, Luke served as Senior Data Services manager for Data Trust in Washington, DC, where he oversaw client management for more than 30 political and non-political organizations during the 2016 election cycle. Luke’s political experience also includes work for Jeb 2016 and TargetPoint Consulting, where he played a major role in nationwide voter targeting efforts throughout the 2014 midterm elections. Luke is a graduate of Georgetown University.
Vice President of Strategy
Ivan DuBois is Vice President of Strategy and works directly with campaigns to translate data into winning strategies. He is an experienced campaigner and knows how to win.
Prior to joining Y2, Ivan served as Chief of Staff for Rep. Mia Love (UT04) and has earned a reputation for his energetic, team focused approach that keeps campaigns focused on their goal – victory. He has successfully lead fundraising efforts, communications, grassroots and GOTV programs, campaign budgets and just about every other component of a winning campaign. Ivan served as the Executive Director of the Utah Republican Party from 2007-2013 and understands how to leverage national and local party committees. He is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants.
Ivan resides in the Washington D.C. area with his wife Megan, daughter Charlotte and golden doodle George.
Specialties: Campaign management, strategic planning, timelines and budgeting, fundraising, mobile marketing, event planning, media relations, crisis management, vendor management GOTV and campaign structure.
Jade is a graduate of Utah State University where he majored in both statistics and political science and was named 2017 undergraduate student of the year by both major departments. While attending Utah State University, he worked as an intern for Y2 Analytics and became adept at data visualization – contributing to research projects for a variety of corporate, municipal, and political clients.
He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in political science at the University of Michigan, but continues working with Y2 Analytics as needed on a project-by-project basis. He also keeps Y2 informed of the latest developments in the field of survey statistics to ensure that the company’s analytical toolbox remains versatile and cutting edge.
Tatiana is a data analyst with Y2 and works primarily on data visualization and analytics. She has a background in survey research methods, quantitative and qualitative research, and econometrics. Tatiana’s prior work experience includes analytic and visualization work for TargetPoint Consulting in Alexandria, VA, as well as survey management and research for the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy at Brigham Young University. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University.
Danny, a Utah native, is a data analyst at Y2 and has experience in data science, research design, experimental methods, and data visualization. He has a master’s degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brigham Young University. Danny has worked as a researcher for AidData and the Political and Economic Development Lab.
Kathryn is a systems developer for Y2 Analytics who specializes in data storage, transfer, and reporting. Her contributions in research, design, programming, and testing of software have helped to streamline key components of Y2’s regular deliverables. She graduated from Snow College with an Associates of Science and is currently studying Computer Science at the University of Utah. Her interests include collecting anecdotal stories and trivial facts, stand-up comedy, and the Antiques Road Show.
Nick graduated from Brigham Young University in December of 2018 with a double major in International Relations and Spanish Studies. While discovering his passion for statistics, he worked on an extensive developmental project in Peru, persuading government officials of the importance of using evidence-based research in their policy decisions. He then published his findings in BYU’s Sigma Journal and presented the results at the MPSA Conference.
Megan is a recent graduate of Brigham Young University, where she studied biostatistics. She has worked on medical research projects at The University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus and has an extensive background in statistical programming. She plans on pursuing a Master of Applied Statistics.
Bella is a client relations intern at Y2 Analytics and specializes in process refinement, client communications, and project oversight. She has a background in data reporting and operations management from her prior work experience, which includes nonprofit advocacy and extensive work with Utah’s young entrepreneurs. Bella is currently studying Political Science and Business at the University of Utah, and is passionate about public policy, good dogs, and history.”
Kalel is a native Brazilian at Brigham Young University studying statistics with an emphasis in analytics. Kalel’s main areas of focus are in cleaning, managing, and presenting data in a way that people and organizations can use to improve themselves and make important decisions. His interests include watching movies, finding new places to eat, taking selfies with dogs, and traveling.
Emily is a senior at BYU and is currently completing a bachelors in economics. Her areas of interest include econometric analysis and research design. Emily recently completed and defended her honors thesis, which analyzed the price elasticity of demand for national parks and the impact of entrance fees on park visitation. A Virginia native, Emily is a proud southerner. She enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and speaking Portuguese.
Miranda is a Senior at Brigham Young University double majoring in Political Science and Latin American Studies. She discovered her passion for research and statistics while working for Political Science professors studying gender and politics. She continued developing this passion while working as a Teaching Assistant for a statistical analysis class. Throughout her time at BYU, she presented original research twice at the Midwestern Political Science Conference and worked at the Political and Economic Development Research Lab.
Tristan is a Systems Development Intern at Y2 and specializes in user interface design and software creation. She is a currently studying Computer Science at the University of Utah and has an emphasis in Entertainment Arts and Engineering and a minor in Mathematics. Tristan is passionate about ‘bug fixing’ software, the great outdoors, and her pet rabbits.
Hope is an MPA candidate and holds a bachelor’s degree in applied statistics and analytics from Brigham Young University.
She is passionate about using research and data science to empower mission-driven organizations. Some of her favorite past projects include assessing the work-life harmony of Singapore, modeling the gender-wage gap, designing an evaluation plan for Mountainland Head Start, and managing a longitudinal study of emerging adults.
Hope loves rock climbing and horses.
Jacob is a senior at Brigham Young University studying statistics with minors in mathematics and political science. He has worked as a research assistant in the Political Science and Statistics departments at BYU.
While working as a research assistant, he traveled to India to conduct field work for a global development project. He is presenting findings from more recent work at the 2019 Joint Statistical Meetings in Denver.
Jacob is a Utah native and enjoys running, reading the New York Times, and caring for a variety of houseplants.
Kelly Duncan recently graduated in Political Science from Brigham Young University with double minors in Spanish and Communications.
Kelly has a passion for econometrics and recognizes that statistics can be powerful and multilayered when used in political and business discourse. Eventually, Kelly plans to earn a Master’s degree in Data Science or Applied Statistics where she hopes to help shape policy that will positively influence people’s lives.
Brynne Townley recently graduated in Political Science from Brigham Young University . During her undergraduate experience, she was a research fellow with BYU’s Political and Economic Development Lab and a teaching assistant for a statistical analysis class.
In addition, her research has been published in SIGMA, BYU’s Political Science Student Journal. She plans to work for a few years and then pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Policy.
