Quin is a recognized survey researcher and a partner at Y2. He has particular expertise with sampling, weighting, and online modes, including pioneering the probability online panel, which is being increasingly utilized by market researchers.
He has fielded numerous political, academic, and professional surveys via traditional telephone interviews, novel internet modes, and even increasingly rare in-person interviews. His publications appear in a variety of academic outlets including Political Analysis, Public Opinion Quarterly, the American Journal of Political Science, and Cambridge University Press.
Quin received his Ph.D. from the Ohio State University where he focused on elections, public opinion, and survey research methods. In addition to his work at Y2, he is the former Director of the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy and an Associate Professor of Political Science at Brigham Young University.
Kelly is a partner at Y2 , a survey specialist and a political scientist. He has directed the Utah Colleges Exit Poll, a poll that has surveyed voters in the state of Utah for over 30 years. Kelly’s expertise in questionnaire development includes experience with numerous randomized survey experiments and A/B testing.
His publications appear in a variety of academic journals including Public Opinion Quarterly, Political Behavior, the Journal of Politics, and the Journal of Political Marketing.
Kelly received his Ph.D. from Columbia University where he researched political parties, public opinion and voting behavior. He is also the former Director of the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy at BYU and is currently a senior research fellow.
As Managing Partner, Scott has advised Fortune 500 corporations, international non-profits, federal, state, and local governments, and political candidates on a range of projects including branding, customer experience, competitive strategy, and more.
Informed by his background in auditable public research, Scott is a detail-oriented researcher with a high standard for research design, collection operations, and analysis rigor. Y2 Analytics wields the full statistical toolbox with extensive experience in activating insights at every level of the organization – from C-suite to frontline employees.

Partner, Vice President of Operations
As a Partner and Vice President of Operations at Y2 Analytics, Nick is involved in managing – at both a strategic and operational level – the company’s day-to-day operations.
Nick has spent the last decade in business operations, successfully helping organizations innovate, grow, plan, and succeed. His experience and leadership have been focused on developing and providing outstanding client service and profitable revenue growth.
Prior to his work at Y2 Analytics, he spent seven years as Director of Operations at TargetPoint Consulting, one of the nation’s leading public opinion and microtargeting research firms.
Nick worked on Mitt Romney’s 2008 presidential campaign, serving as the Operations Manager and Human Resources Director. Before joining the campaign, Nick also served in the Bush Administration at the White House and started his career at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC.
An Ohio native, Nick has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Brigham Young University and a Communications/Business Management degree from Brigham Young University- Idaho.
Nick also serves on Brigham Young University’s Romney Institute Executive Advisory Board. He lives in Syracuse, Utah with his wife and kids, all of whom are outdoor-loving baseball fans.
Partner, Vice President of Research
As Vice President of Research at Y2, Kyrene is enthusiastic about asking the right questions, of the right audiences, in the right ways. Kyrene works directly with her clients to develop and refine their research objectives and then design a wholistic approach to data collection and analysis that gets them the answers they need. She is passionate about methodology and has a wealth of experience leading qualitative, quantitative, and mixed method projects from start to finish.
Kyrene specializes in questionnaire design, survey management, data analysis, and focus group administration for various clients in diverse arenas. She has delivered insights to inform non-profit marketing, corporate brand strategy, municipal policy, and campaign messaging for ballot-bound issues and candidates. Prior to joining Y2, Kyrene worked with GS Strategy Group, a national polling and strategic consulting firm where she collaborated on projects for candidates, interest groups, trade associations, and major corporations.
Kyrene is a graduate of Brigham Young University, a South Weber resident, a dog owner, and a proponent of the Oxford comma.
Partner, Vice President of Data Science
Luke is Partner and Vice President of Data Science at Y2 Analytics. He designs and implements research projects for multinational corporations, nonprofits, and political campaigns. Luke specializes in predictive analytics, market segmentation, and data visualization, which he uses to generate deep strategic insights for his clients.
Prior to joining Y2, Luke worked at DataTrust and TargetPoint Consulting. When he isn’t building predictive models, Luke enjoys listening to jazz and cooking new recipes with his wife. He is based in Washington, DC, and is a graduate of Georgetown University.
Vice President of Strategy
Ivan DuBois is Vice President of Strategy and works directly with campaigns to translate data into winning strategies. He is an experienced campaigner and knows how to win.
Prior to joining Y2, Ivan served as Chief of Staff for Rep. Mia Love (UT04) and has earned a reputation for his energetic, team focused approach that keeps campaigns focused on their goal – victory. He has successfully lead fundraising efforts, communications, grassroots and GOTV programs, campaign budgets and just about every other component of a winning campaign. Ivan served as the Executive Director of the Utah Republican Party from 2007-2013 and understands how to leverage national and local party committees. He is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants.
Ivan resides in the Washington D.C. area with his wife Megan, daughter Charlotte and golden doodle George.
Specialties: Campaign management, strategic planning, timelines and budgeting, fundraising, mobile marketing, event planning, media relations, crisis management, vendor management GOTV and campaign structure.
Kathryn is a systems developer for Y2 Analytics who specializes in data storage, transfer, and reporting. Her contributions in research, design, programming, and testing of software have helped to streamline key components of Y2’s regular deliverables. She graduated from Snow College with an Associates of Science and is currently studying Computer Science at the University of Utah. Her interests include collecting anecdotal stories and trivial facts, stand-up comedy, and the Antiques Road Show.
Megan is an Administrative Coordinator who works primarily on the Operations side of Y2, bouncing between human resources, business operations, marketing and sales. Her behind-the-scenes work helps keep things running smoothly, contributing to the overall satisfaction and growth of the company.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Megan is also dedicated to personal growth and development. She is currently studying to become a Massage Therapist and has received training as a Birth Doula, reflecting her interest in healing and helping others.
With her free time, Megan enjoys exploring her creative side with DIY projects, spending time outdoors, and traveling to new places.
Director of Process and Compliance
Bella is the Director of Process and Compliance at Y2 Analytics specializing in data security and compliance, client account management, and business process development. She leads the SOC 2 compliance effort at Y2 Analytics by establishing user-friendly, adoptable processes that minimize risk and prioritize data security. Additionally, she is passionate about addressing complex problems across the organization with solutions that maximize efficiency and work for individual stakeholders.
She has a degree in political science from the University of Utah, where she also studied business. In her free time, Bella enjoys reality television, walking her dog, and reading.
Director of Research
Tatiana is a Director of Research at Y2 Analytics where she prioritizes providing clear, valuable, data-driven insights for her clients. She is experienced in executing qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods studies and is passionate about turning the data from these studies into actionable insights.
Tatiana specializes in survey management, data analysis, and data visualization. She is also experienced in project management, which she considers pivotal to both executing successful projects and ensuring team members and clients feel valued.
In her free time, Tatiana likes to crochet, sing, grill, watch her favorite shows on repeat, and go outside with her family. She lives in Salt Lake City, UT with her husband, son, and dog.
Director of Research
Nick is a Director of Research at Y2 Analytics who specializes in making the complex simple. He is an expert at complex analysis and modeling and turning predictive modeling into profit driving insights that executives can understand and engage with.
Not only does Nick partner with clients to meet their needs, he employs the most robust statistical practices to do so. He has comprehensive experience with multinomial regression modeling, clustering/segmentation analysis, factor analysis, geocoding, fully scalable data analysis, and interactive data visualizations. With this extensive toolkit, he works to make complex predictive modeling approachable and applicable, allowing businesses to leverage customers perspectives, predict the future, and lead to positive change.
Nick discovered his passion for statistics at Brigham Young University, where he graduated with a double major in International Relations and Spanish Studies. In his spare time, Nick enjoys reading, gaming, binging Netflix, and going on adventures with his wife.
Director of Research
Jade received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. His dissertation research focused on primary elections, legislators’ endorsement behavior, and public response to elite cues. His other research interests include political campaigns, religion, and political geography. He became an expert on regression modeling including choice modelling, conjoint experiments, and survey research methods including survey experiments, measurement, and question wording.
While at Michigan, he worked on the team that designed and piloted the 2020 American National Elections Study (ANES) and was involved with analyzing new questions and proposed modifications to the survey. His other leadership roles included serving terms as President of Michigan’s Graduate Association of Political Scientists and as Chair of the Interdisciplinary Workshop on American Politics.
Jade grew up in Utah and attended Utah State University where he graduated with a dual major in Statistics and Political Science. He loves Utah and can frequently be found enjoying all it has to offer including visiting historical sites, hiking in the stunningly beautiful mountains, and running on roads and trails. He also likes to try new recipes, read, and go on walks with his wife.
Director of Research
Emily recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s in economics. Prior to graduation, Emily completed and defended her honors thesis, using her background in econometric analysis to measure the impact of policy changes within the National Parks Service. Emily also participated in the university’s Washington Seminar program, where she spent a semester living in Washington, DC, studying public policy, and interning with Y2. Emily currently works as a data analyst in Y2’s Salt Lake office. Her areas of interest include quantitative analysis and research design.
Director of Data Science
Megan is the Director of Data Science at Y2 Analytics, where she focuses on making complex analysis accessible to clients. She is experienced in advanced predictive modeling, choice-based experiment analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics, and data visualization.
Megan believes in elevating statistical rigor to better understand what data is saying about human attitudes and behaviors. At Y2, she also leads efforts to ensure the company uses state of the art statistical practices by staying up to date on new developments in the field and implementing new methodologies into the Y2 workflow.
She has a master’s degree in Applied Statistics from Colorado State University.
Senior Data Analyst
Canyen is a senior data analyst at Y2 Analytics.
Before joining the team, he studied at Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in International Relations and a minor in Non-profit Management. Through BYU’s Kennedy Center for International Studies, he has done studies abroad in West Africa and Southeast Asia.
At BYU, he developed an interest in statistics and data analysis. He worked as a research assistant for the Center on the Study of Elections and Democracy at BYU for almost two years. During his time there, he worked on a number of projects analyzing data regarding American public opinion, Super PACs and other Independent Expenditure groups, and Voter Registration and turnout in American general and midterm elections. Many of these works have already been published or are forthcoming in journals such as PLOS, Journal of Politics, and American Political Science Review. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Data Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
With his free time, Canyen enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, longboarding, photography, hiking, spending time with his partner and friends, and writing.
Ethan is a data analyst who graduated from Brigham Young University in Political Science with an emphasis in Research and Analysis.
While at university, he worked with Kelly Patterson (see above) and Christopher Karpowitz on a book concerning individualism in America. He also conducted research on whistleblower credibility, extremism on social media, and the effects of religiosity on conspiracy beliefs.
Since his employment with Y2 Analytics, he has worked extensively with many Utah municipalities (and several companies) using both qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform policy decisions.
In his free time, Ethan is a fervent consumer of podcasts, movies, television shows, and books before bed. He also likes to play spikeball, pickleball, racquetball, and other goofy sports.
Spencer is a data analyst at Y2 Analytics who graduated from Brigham Young University in Information Systems. There, he learned how to help companies through data and technology.
During his time at BYU, Spencer had the opportunity to work on a database website for a project within the Archeology department. One of Spencer’s favorite parts of working at Y2 is helping companies and municipalities understand their consumers and residents respectively. His passion for working with data stems from his belief that data has the power to impact lives and drive positive change.
In his free time, Spencer loves spending time with his wife, Lindsey. He enjoys watching and playing sports as a way to unwind and stay active.
Daniel is a data analyst at Y2 Analytics and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Brigham Young University, with an emphasis in Applied Statistics & Analytics. Before Y2 Analytics, Daniel had the opportunity to work in software development as a front-end website engineer and team lead. As an undergraduate at BYU, Daniel primarily focused on learning advanced techniques for automating business processes using a variety of tools and coding languages.
Daniel’s passions include playing strategy board games, playing disc golf or tennis, and participating in a local multi-cultural dance group.
Wallace is a recent graduate of Brigham Young University where he studied Neuroscience with a minor in statistics. During his time at BYU he worked as a research assistant where he was able to apply the power of statistics to eye tracking and fMRI data from several studies on reading and dyslexia. Now at Y2 he uses those same statistical techniques to help clients understand the opinions and preferences of their audiences. In his free time Wallace enjoys reading, cooking, and exploring the wilderness around his hometown in southern Utah.
