Quin is a recognized survey researcher and a partner at Y2. He has particular expertise with sampling, weighting, and online modes, including pioneering the probability online panel, which is being increasingly utilized by market researchers.
He has fielded numerous political, academic, and professional surveys via traditional telephone interviews, novel internet modes, and even increasingly rare in-person interviews. His publications appear in a variety of academic outlets including Political Analysis, Public Opinion Quarterly, the American Journal of Political Science, and Cambridge University Press.
Quin received his Ph.D. from the Ohio State University where he focused on elections, public opinion, and survey research methods. In addition to his work at Y2, he is the former Director of the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy and an Associate Professor of Political Science at Brigham Young University.
Kelly is a partner at Y2 , a survey specialist and a political scientist. He has directed the Utah Colleges Exit Poll, a poll that has surveyed voters in the state of Utah for over 30 years. Kelly’s expertise in questionnaire development includes experience with numerous randomized survey experiments and A/B testing.
His publications appear in a variety of academic journals including Public Opinion Quarterly, Political Behavior, the Journal of Politics, and the Journal of Political Marketing.
Kelly received his Ph.D. from Columbia University where he researched political parties, public opinion and voting behavior. He is also the former Director of the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy at BYU and is currently a senior research fellow.
As Managing Partner, Scott has advised Fortune 500 corporations, international non-profits, federal, state, and local governments, and political candidates on a range of projects including branding, customer experience, competitive strategy, and more.
Informed by his background in auditable public research, Scott is a detail-oriented researcher with a high standard for research design, collection operations, and analysis rigor. Y2 Analytics wields the full statistical toolbox with extensive experience in activating insights at every level of the organization – from C-suite to frontline employees.

Partner, Vice President of Operations
As a Partner and Vice President of Operations at Y2 Analytics, Nick is involved in managing – at both a strategic and operational level – the company’s day-to-day operations.
Nick has spent the last decade in business operations, successfully helping organizations innovate, grow, plan, and succeed. His experience and leadership have been focused on developing and providing outstanding client service and profitable revenue growth.
Prior to his work at Y2 Analytics, he spent seven years as Director of Operations at TargetPoint Consulting, one of the nation’s leading public opinion and microtargeting research firms.
Nick worked on Mitt Romney’s 2008 presidential campaign, serving as the Operations Manager and Human Resources Director. Before joining the campaign, Nick also served in the Bush Administration at the White House and started his career at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC.
An Ohio native, Nick has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Brigham Young University and a Communications/Business Management degree from Brigham Young University- Idaho.
Nick also serves on Brigham Young University’s Romney Institute Executive Advisory Board. He lives in Syracuse, Utah with his wife and kids, all of whom are outdoor-loving baseball fans.
Partner, Vice President of Research
As Vice President of Research at Y2, Kyrene is enthusiastic about asking the right questions, of the right audiences, in the right ways. Kyrene works directly with her clients to develop and refine their research objectives and then design a wholistic approach to data collection and analysis that gets them the answers they need. She is passionate about methodology and has a wealth of experience leading qualitative, quantitative, and mixed method projects from start to finish.
Kyrene specializes in questionnaire design, survey management, data analysis, and focus group administration for various clients in diverse arenas.She has delivered insights to inform corporate brand strategy, municipal policy, and campaign messaging for ballot-bound issues and candidates. Prior to joining Y2, Kyrene worked with GS Strategy Group, a national polling and strategic consulting firm where she collaborated on projects for candidates, interest groups, trade associations, and major corporations.
Kyrene is a graduate of Brigham Young University, a South Weber resident, a dog owner, and a proponent of the Oxford comma.
Partner, Vice President of Data Science
Luke is a Partner and Vice President of Data Science at Y2. He has extensive experience in predictive analytics, market segmentation, and data visualization, and he utilizes these skills to help generate deep strategic insights for a wide range of clients. Based in Washington, DC, Luke manages much of Y2 Analytics’ national political work, and he has directed campaign analytics and voter targeting research for dozens of campaigns and committees.
Prior to joining Y2, Luke served as Senior Data Services manager for Data Trust, as well as doing work for Jeb 2016 and TargetPoint Consulting. When he isn’t building predictive models, Luke enjoys watching the New York Yankees and listening to jazz. Luke is a graduate of Georgetown University.
Partner, Vice President of Insights
James is a Partner and Vice President of Insights at Y2 Analytics. He is a skilled researcher with a background in both qualitative and quantitative methods.
James cares about taking care of his clients and making sure they have everything they need to be successful. He specializes in developing and testing communications strategies and designing and executing custom primary research. His heart beats a little faster to do focus group moderation, questionnaire design, client consultation, data analysis, and insight development for clients of all backgrounds.
James is focused on impactful research that leads directly to business results. He has driven growth working for and with Fortune 50 companies like Facebook, Walmart, PepsiCo, Kraft/Heinz, and with key policy influencers like the Nuclear Energy Institute, National Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Home Builders.
He is a graduate of Brigham Young University and has an MBA from the Sam Walton School of Business at the University of Arkansas.
Vice President of Strategy
Ivan DuBois is Vice President of Strategy and works directly with campaigns to translate data into winning strategies. He is an experienced campaigner and knows how to win.
Prior to joining Y2, Ivan served as Chief of Staff for Rep. Mia Love (UT04) and has earned a reputation for his energetic, team focused approach that keeps campaigns focused on their goal – victory. He has successfully lead fundraising efforts, communications, grassroots and GOTV programs, campaign budgets and just about every other component of a winning campaign. Ivan served as the Executive Director of the Utah Republican Party from 2007-2013 and understands how to leverage national and local party committees. He is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants.
Ivan resides in the Washington D.C. area with his wife Megan, daughter Charlotte and golden doodle George.
Specialties: Campaign management, strategic planning, timelines and budgeting, fundraising, mobile marketing, event planning, media relations, crisis management, vendor management GOTV and campaign structure.
Jade is a graduate of Utah State University where he majored in both statistics and political science and was named 2017 undergraduate student of the year by both major departments. While attending Utah State University, he worked as an intern for Y2 Analytics and became adept at data visualization – contributing to research projects for a variety of corporate, municipal, and political clients.
He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in political science at the University of Michigan, but continues working with Y2 Analytics as needed on a project-by-project basis. He also keeps Y2 informed of the latest developments in the field of survey statistics to ensure that the company’s analytical toolbox remains versatile and cutting edge.
Director of Research
Tatiana is a data analyst with Y2 and works primarily on data visualization and analytics. She has a background in survey research methods, quantitative and qualitative research, and econometrics. Tatiana’s prior work experience includes analytic and visualization work for TargetPoint Consulting in Alexandria, VA, as well as survey management and research for the Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy at Brigham Young University. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University.
Kathryn is a systems developer for Y2 Analytics who specializes in data storage, transfer, and reporting. Her contributions in research, design, programming, and testing of software have helped to streamline key components of Y2’s regular deliverables. She graduated from Snow College with an Associates of Science and is currently studying Computer Science at the University of Utah. Her interests include collecting anecdotal stories and trivial facts, stand-up comedy, and the Antiques Road Show.
Director of Research
Nick is a Director of Research at Y2 Analytics who specializes in making the complex simple. He is an expert at complex analysis and modeling and turning predictive modeling into profit driving insights that executives can understand and engage with.
Not only does Nick partner with clients to meet their needs, he employs the most robust statistical practices to do so. He has comprehensive experience with multinomial regression modeling, clustering/segmentation analysis, factor analysis, geocoding, fully scalable data analysis, and interactive data visualizations. With this extensive toolkit, he works to make complex predictive modeling approachable and applicable, allowing businesses to leverage customers perspectives, predict the future, and lead to positive change.
Nick discovered his passion for statistics at Brigham Young University, where he graduated with a double major in International Relations and Spanish Studies. In his spare time, Nick enjoys reading, gaming, binging Netflix, and going on adventures with his wife.
Bella is a project manager at Y2 Analytics and specializes in process refinement, client account management, and project oversight. She has a background in database reporting and operations management, and her experience includes nonprofit advocacy and extensive work with Utah’s young entrepreneurs.
She has a degree in political science from the University of Utah.
Director of Research
Emily recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s in economics. Prior to graduation, Emily completed and defended her honors thesis, using her background in econometric analysis to measure the impact of policy changes within the National Parks Service. Emily also participated in the university’s Washington Seminar program, where she spent a semester living in Washington, DC, studying public policy, and interning with Y2. Emily currently works as a data analyst in Y2’s Salt Lake office. Her areas of interest include quantitative analysis and research design.
Megan is a data analyst at Y2 and has experience in data mining, multivariate analysis, mixed models, and nonparametric analysis. She has collaborated with researchers from the Animal Behavior & Welfare program at Colorado State University and has worked on medical research projects at The University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus. She has a Master of Applied Statistics from Colorado State University and a bachelor’s degree in statistics from Brigham Young University.
Director of Data Science and Operations Specialist
Danny, a Utah native, is a data scientist at Y2 and has experience in data analysis, research design, experimental methods, and data visualization. He has a master’s degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brigham Young University. Danny has worked as a researcher for AidData and the Political and Economic Development Lab.
Canyen is a data analysis intern at Y2 Analytics.
Before joining the team, he studied at Brigham Young University and graduated with a major in International Relations and a minor in Non-profit Management. Through BYU’s Kennedy Center for International Studies, he has done research in West Africa and Southeast Asia.
At BYU, he also developed a knack for statistics and data analysis. He has worked on research by the Center on the Study of Elections and Democracy at BYU with Dr. Michael Barber, an associate professor of political science, for almost two years. While working for Dr. Barber, he worked on a number of projects analyzing data regarding American public opinion, Super PACs and other Independent Expenditure groups, and Voter Registration and turnout in American general and midterm elections. Many of these works have already been published or are forthcoming in journals such as Journal of Politics and American Political Science Review.
With his free time, Canyen enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, longboarding, photography, hiking, spending time with friends, and writing.
Edie is a data analysis intern at Y2 Analytics. She recently graduated from Brigham Young University in political science, with minors in Japanese and music. At BYU she worked as a Research Assistant, examining the influence of white, working-class voters in presidential elections. She was also involved with the BYU Political Review and BYU Philharmonic Orchestra. Edie enjoys skiing, practicing the violin, and hiking.
Pearce is a Data Analyst Intern at Y2 Analytics with experience in data visualization, experimental survey research, and probabilistic record matching.
Pearce graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s in Political Science and minors in Political Research & Data Analysis and Statistics. As a member of the BYU Center for the Study of Elections and Democracy, he researched public policy regarding suicide, messaging effects on public attitude towards US Congress, and partisan conspiracy ownership. Pearce continues to do research on political donations with Dr. David Magleby and Dr. Jay Goodliffe with forthcoming publications on methodology, descriptive overview, and explanatory analysis.
In his free time, Pearce is an outdoor enthusiast with a particular interest in backpacking and nature photography. He also loves to play sports such as soccer, hockey, and racquetball.
Rachel is a marketing representative at Y2 Analytics and has past experience in marketing for non-profit organizations. Rachel is currently a student at the University of Utah and is majoring in Business Management. She previously worked in the health insurance industry as a Certified Medical Coder and Pharmacy Technician.
Rachel is an outdoor enthusiast and loves road biking, running, mountain biking, skiing, hiking, camping, and participating in endurance events.
Data Analyst Intern
Jared is a data analyst intern at Y2 Analytics and recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University.
During his time as an undergraduate student at BYU, Jared actively sought out opportunities to participate in unique research projects. He spent almost two years as a research assistant for Dr. Darren Hawkins, a professor of political science at BYU, in an effort to create a website that would provide succinct summaries, graphs, and visual aids of complex statistical studies. The intent of this site is produce a invaluable source of reputable, statistically-backed research in one location so policy makers in developing countries can more readily access and utilize it to make informed policy decisions. Jared also has a great interest in survey methodology and has participated in the implementation of various survey experiments that range from analyzing the effects of COVID-19 on Utah National Park visitor attitudes, to violent news media images and their impact on political polarization.
Jared always enjoys a good movie, and loves traveling and experiencing new cultures and cuisines.
